The mission of Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School is to offer a quality Montessori education infused with culturally inclusive principles to guide children to develop to their fullest potential. The vision of the founders of Shining Stars Montessori Academy is one that seeks to alter the educational outcomes of children living in Washington, DC, thereby positioning them for future success. In keeping with our mission, we will strive to nurture the genius of all the children who come through our doors, guiding them in the principles of the Montessori approach.

It is our goal at Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS is two fold: to continue to improve our students’ literacy skills year-round AND encourage a love of reading. The SSMA Reading List list includes a wide variety of books for all ages , for all grades , from different cultures, bilingual books, fiction, and nonfiction. All of the books are available at the DC Public Library. Enjoy!
