Welcome to Shining Stars Montessori Academy where we offer a culturally-inclusive, authentic Montessori program that cultivates tomorrow’s global leaders.
Within our authentic Montessori program, SSMA offers Dual Language Immersion Program, in which selected classrooms participate in instruction in both Spanish and English.
 
SSMA is open enrollment and tuition-free to residents of the District of Columbia. 
Prospective Students Age Requirements
  • PreK3 applicants must turn three on or before September 30th of the year they are applying for admission.
  • PreK4 applicants must turn four on or before September 30th of the year they are applying for admission.
  • Kindergarten applicants must turn five on or before September 30th of the year they are applying for admission.
  • Family must be able to show proof of DC residency

How to Apply to SSMA

SSMA is part of the MySchoolDC common lottery. The MySchoolDC common lottery is a single, random lottery that determines placement for new students at SSMA and other participating schools. You must apply through this lottery if you want your child to attend SSMA

  • December 2, 2023 - EdFEST (PK3 - 8th Grade)
  • December 11, 2023 - Lottery Application Opens
  • March 1, 2024 - Application Deadline (PK3 - 8th Grade)
  • March 29, 2024 - Lottery results are available
  • April 27, 2024 - Enrollment Saturday
  • May 1, 2024 - Enrollment Deadline for matched students
