Executive Director's Message
Welcome to Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School. Here, we offer children a fundamentally different way of teaching and learning using the Montessori Method and unique materials. While there are innumerable ways that Shining Stars profoundly shapes each student’s experience, three dimensions, in particular, stand out to me:
Expert, Caring Montessori Faculty and Staff - Our outstanding teachers and staff know each of our students as individuals and guide as well as instruct them in discovery and exploration.
Joyful Learning - Our student-centered approach promotes independent thinking, creativity, and healthy risk-taking while developing an ethical and equity-centered mindset. Older students engage with younger ones, reinforcing their roles as community leaders and contributors.
Authentic Montessori - The Montessori Method fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children and adolescents in all areas of their development—cognitive, emotional, social, and physical. Montessori classrooms are immediately recognizable. You will see children working independently and in multi-age/grade groups, often with specially designed learning materials; deeply engaged in their work; and respectful of themselves and their surroundings.
