Shining Receives Nicolas Vassos Memorial Fund to Support Students with Financial Need

Shining Stars Montessori is pleased to announce the Nicholas Vassos Memorial Fund, an $11,000 gift to Shining Stars Montessori. The fund is offered by John Vassos in celebration of his father Nicolas Vassos’ life, his love of children, of learning, and his compassion for others. The fund will provide support to students at Shining Stars Montessori Academy who demonstrate a need for financial support to help them fully access their education.  The initial gift of $11K will establish the basis for an endowment that will support students of Shining Stars in perpetuity.

John Vassos said of his father, “He was a kind, caring, trustworthy and loyal husband, father and friend.  A man of simple needs who loved seeing those he knew and could help succeed. Above all else, he was a man of strong faith; faith in God and faith in all those he knew and touched.”

"The Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS community humbly accepts this gift and honors the spirit in which it is offered," said Dr. Regina Rodriguez, the school's Executive Director.
