The mission of Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School is to offer a quality Montessori education infused with culturally inclusive principles to guide children to develop to their fullest potential. The vision of the founders of Shining Stars Montessori Academy is one that seeks to alter the educational outcomes of children living in Washington, DC, thereby positioning them for future success. In keeping with our mission, we will strive to nurture the genius of all the children who come through our doors, guiding them in the principles of the Montessori approach.

Shining Stars nurtures the genius in children utilizing: Montessori Pedagogy, Joyful Learning, and Expert, Caring Faculty with consistent 99–100% promotion and graduation rates, 0% expulsions, multi-aged classrooms, dual-language instruction (English/Spanish), family and, community engagement, and culturally responsive instruction.

Our goal is $10,000. Make a lasting impact with a gift of:
● $5,000 supports refreshing our building with a new coat of paint
● $1,000 purchases new safety treads for our stairwells
● $500 covers R/T Transportation Bus Rental for a field trip
● $385 purchases 25 Merriam-Webster Dictionaries
● $200 provides one used instrument for our music program
● $169 purchases National Geographic Nonfiction Readers for one classroom
● $150 provides a week of meals for a family of four in need.
● $100 provides two hours of high fidelity tutoring
● $50 purchases a student’s uniform
